2017 C-CAP Awards

C-CAP is the Careers through Culinary Arts Program. Chef Don Young had 11 of his Marple Culinary students compete in the C-CAP competitions. Only seniors can compete in the finals, so he had 9 of those 11 move on to the finals! The other two students were juniors and can compete again next year. The awards ceremony was held on April 6th and we are so proud of our students and the awards they received!

2017 CTE Month

On Wednesday, February 15, 2017 the Delaware County Council recognized February as Career and Technical Education Month. DCTS was given the opportunity to have some of their teachers and students recognized for their hard work! The teachers and students were awarded certificates for being Classroom Innovators.

Dakota shows dedication, determination, and discipline within DCTS and the Apple class. He is currently the DCTS Student Board Representative who dedicates a number of hours gathering information from the students and staff at DCTS to share at monthly board meetings. He’s excellent at the job and always represents DCTS proudly! Dakota is also president of the student council and president of SkillsUSA.

Jalen is always willing to help out his classmates. He is always volunteering to take on additional projects in class to help out DCTS. He is known for his creativity and attention to detail.

Jordan is President of the AM Student Council at the Folcroft Campus. Jordan is very passionate about Cosmetology and she is a great role model for the other students in the program.

Sindy is not only a member of HOSA, but she is also the president on the AM sessions HOSA Council. HOSA is for future health professionals. It is an international student organization that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Divisions of ACTE. Sindy is a very dedicated student and will do great in the health care profession.

2016 SkillsUSA District Competition Winners

SkillsUSA is the largest career and technical student organizations (CTSO) organizations and is open to all students. It emphasizes respect for the dignity of work, high standards and trade ethics, workmanship, scholarship, safety, and partnership with business. It also serves as the school’s student government, since all students are eligible to participate in SkillsUSA. 4 Teams of Middle & High School Girls Compete in Global Technology & Entrepreneurship Competition

For 12 weeks Delaware County Technical High Schools will run a free coding workshop, Delco Girls CODE, which will implement the global technology entrepreneurship program for girls, Technovation.  During the Delco Girls CODE – Technovation Challenge teams of girls in grades 6th – 9th will work together to develop an app that addresses a problem in the community. They will join a network of over 3000 girls from 28 countries around the world who have entered the 3-month competition in the past.
